I am a native English speaker. I study Spanish for personal interest, and I have several Spanish friends.
"Tomar el pelo" means to tease or joke with someone. It doesn't have a direct English equivalent that I know of. These unique expressions used in their context have become a fascinating way for me to learn about other cultures and languages.
