I called my son last night before his bedtime because I had to work late.
My son: When are you coming home?
Me: I don't know, but by the time I come home, you will have been asleep.
1. you will have been asleep.
2. you will be asleep.
Do both choices sound natural?

#2 is correct.
#1 can be fixed: "you will have fallen asleep"

2. is better. 1. sounds like he will have gone to sleep and woke back up again.

Either "you will be asleep" or "you will have gone to sleep".

there are 2 ways you can say this:
1. you will be asleep
2. you would be asleep
