Sandra
I would like to have a Chinese name. My real name is Sandra Schmit. I was thinking of 时 灿龖 Shí Càndá. I love the connotations (as I understand them). Would this be considered a good and appropriate name? Or would people in China find it silly or funny? I would be happy to get feedback from Chinese native speakers. Thank you so much in advance!

The character “仙 (xiān)” imparts a dreamy and otherworldly feel to names. It’s particularly suitable for stories rich in fantasy elements, and can also be used to accentuate the unique charm of characters. Originally, “岚 (lán)” refers to the mist in the mountains. When integrated into a girl’s name, it endows her with an ethereal and otherworldly air. It makes people feel as if they are in a fairyland enshrouded by billowing clouds and mist. Students who want to come up with Chinese names can come to me.
