Your second one is perfect. The first one is weird.
I’ve noticed that there is a bit of a tendency for English Estuary accents (as well as related accents in Australia etc) to merge “golf” and “gulf”, but the effect is much more subtle than the first pronunciation on the recording. Note: In American English, “culled” and “cold” sound quite similar, but “called” and “cold” as well as “golf” and “gulf” are always distinct.
