Hi! About Metonym, I only know that it refers to the relationship between the whole and the part. Today, I learned that Metonym in Idealized Cognitive Model (ICM) includes "Event ICM", but I failed to understand the provided examples.
Aren't both examples stating a fact? Both are statements. I couldn't differ the whole and sub event from them. Are they clear/direct to native speakers? Or are they metaphorical? I am more curious about this than perflexed🤣😥🙏

I have no idea what any of the text means in this image. I do not know what a metonym is either, nor do I know what metonymy is. I have never heard those words in my life. Lol
