what's the difference between pulling, tugging and pushing?
context:
her hands were in his hair, pulling and tugging and pushing.

Pulling and tugging are when you grab things and move them toward you or past you. Tugging usually describes a quick motion while pulling usually describes a more sustained motion. Pushing is when you use your hands (or foot, shoulder, etc.) to move something away from you.
