What does it mean to say that something is lame?

Technical usage would be something along the lines of a dysfunctional or non working bodily extremity/limb. A leg that is paralyzed or suffers from neruomotor/neuromuscular problems for example.
Day to day usage would be equivalent to stupid, dumb, boring, disappointing, terms of that nature. The second usage is essentially slang.
