One of the suggestions to paraphrase the theme is - "Nowadays many people are concerned about the issue of free university education despite the people’s financial status...."
I believe this sentence looks and sounds a bit weird. Native speakers would not paraphrase the theme of the essay in this way.
Could you correct the sentence so that it would mean the same as the essay theme but using synonyms?

I would say it this way... "Nowadays, many people are concerned about the issue of free university education being given regardless of the student’s financial status...."

Synonyms: free tuition, free college education/tuition, government-paid college education.
* College is used more frequently in American English than university.
