Hi, everyone! Currently, using plastic bags is being charged in Japan. I think that plastic bags should be provided free of charge and that for three reasons. First, it is inconvenient for consumers to pay for plastic bags when shopping. I often shop, but it is a hassle to prepare an eco-bag each time. Second, data (the word "data" is a plural and uncountable noun, the singular form is "a piece of data") show that charging for plastic bags does not make much sense. The data show that plastic bags account for a very low percentage of discarded plastics. Third, I think that it is necessary to reduce the use of plastic garbage bags rather than plastic shopping bags. For these reasons, I think that plastic bags should be provided free of charge.
