Do you struggle with the passive voice? It's easier than you think! When we talk about things, sometimes we say who does the action, and sometimes we just say the action is happening. In the passive voice, we talk about the action without saying who does it. For example, imagine you have a cookie: Someone ate the cookie. (active voice) The cookie was eaten. (passive voice) In the passive voice, we use "was" or "were" and a special form of the verb called the past participle. Here are more examples: The ball is thrown. The dog is being washed. The letter was written. So, in the passive voice, we talk about what happened to the thing, not who did it!
