Hi there, are there any differences between „be known for“ and „ be renowned for“? Thanks

They are simiar, but there is a slight difference.
"Be renowned for" carries a stronger connotation of widespread recognition and fame.
"Be known for" means to have a reputation or recognition for a particular characteristic, skill, trait, or accomplishment.
