I am a native Chinese speaker and want to improve my English. I would love to find a long-term language partner. Ideally, you are a native English speaker with a good level of Chinese who is interested in learning Chinese. We could study together between 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM Beijing time.
I believe we can help each other improve by reading books or watching TV shows together. Please feel free to reach out to me! Thank you!

I wish there were more of these quality posts, with the right blend of intelligence, enthusiasm and direction!
The only issue is that I've never seen it last more than a few weeks before contact drops off of a cliff haha. Even for the very motivated posters, everything else seems to get in the way. The hours aren't realistic for a working European, as that 7:30PM will be smack in the middle of the day.

From my experience it's difficult to make use of a language partner. It's also questionable if you can learn much.
You like already reading - read more. Reading is a VERY GOOD way to learn a language. Just make sure you read something that is not too much above your level, and also which is interesting to you.
Movies, TV is good too - what them with English subtitles - and English subtitles ONLY.
I mean to study (again) 汉语, but level is very poor, maybe HSK 2-3. I would love to watch 三体 (the Chinese TV series, not the Netflix one) but that seems way way way above my level.
加油!
