I'm learning Korean and in Korean they say, "남의 떡이 더 커보인다" which literally means "Another person's rice cake looks bigger (than my rice cake)". This expression is similar to the english idiom, "The grass is always greener on the other side".
Both expressions are used to say that what another person has seems better than what the speaker has.
