Hi everybody! Can anybody explain to me what's the difference between "company" and "firm"? Or the two terms can be used interchangeably?

Ciao Eric, hi! Company is a far more common word. We use the word firm normally for a smaller professional business, most commonly a law firm, accounting firm, financial consulting firm, a marketing firm etc :)

I work on analyzing the determinants to firm performance. Firm is more used in the scientific world and doesn't involve small firms only. Both are synonyms.
