Many foreigners who are interested in Chinese must have heard of WeChat. And when
they want to become friends with Chinese people, or find language partners to
practice with, they'll download Wechat, and they'll face a challenge: it isn't as easy to use as they thought it would be. Though Chinese people use Wechat every day, and almost everyone has their own account, because of policies, WeChat is very difficult for people who don't possess Chinese phone
number to register. You must have your Chinese friends to support you, but most
Chinese people don't have the power. So, what do you do? Most apps, even Skype,
don't work well in China, especially in some areas or on some types of phones. I'd
like to recommend DingTalk, which was created by Alibaba for phones or computers. It
was created for businessmen at first, but because of the virus, many of Chinese
students started taking classes online through Dingtalk. It's very useful, especially for video
talk, for communication, of course, and I have connected to many people
from Asia, Europe, Africa, and America very easily. Nothing bad has happened to me so
far! It's very easy for everyone to register and use, and it's free, so you don't need
to pay to use it.
