Hey there, Jonathan is right - it's unusual to describe someone as looking "cynical", as cynical is a behavior or attitude, not an appearance. It might be more natural to say something like: "He was rather cynical, but seemed intelligent", or "He looked smart, but had a cynical attitude". Hope that helps! Ryan

"Cynical" is about personality or disposition. It's not usually used it to describe how a person looks.
