The sun was shining brightly today. During my siesta, I scrolled across a video on my phone showcasing an experiment: Venus flytraps versus a black widow spider. While a black widow is arguably one of the deadliest creatures I know, though technically not an insect. The flytraps themselves were smaller than I'd imagined. The host placed several flytraps and the spider into a terrarium, setting up cameras to film the encounter until its conclusion. Flytraps secrete nectar inside their traps to lure prey. Eventually, the spider was caught, with a few of its long legs left twitching outside the trap. We all learn fascinating facts about amazing plants and animals, but few of us actually consider testing them out – that's where these daring YouTubers come in. I love that they do all this crazy stuff!
