Q. Should green lights for pedestrians stay green longer?
I think there's no need for longer green lights.
Firstly, there are fewer pedestrians crossing the street in some areas. So if there are longer green lights, cars should wait a long time for no good reason. This may not be fair for the drivers.
Secondly, pedestrians wouldn't be harmed just by waiting for the green light. If they've missed the previous green light, they can cross it next time. If people respect the cars a little more, traffic jams would decrease.
In conclusion, there should not be longer green lights considering the cars.
