1. There is a common phrase: SEA LEVEL that you could use. Otherwise, LEVEL, singular. This is basically correct and most native speakers would probably say this. However in an academic or formal context, someone might complain that TYPEWRITERS is plural, whereas A THING is singular. In that case you could say: The typewriter is now a thing of the past.

Typewriters are now a thing of the past.
Good day I made two sets of corrections. The one was sinply to correct the grammer and the other one was rewritten more directly, how a native speaker might say it. I hope this helps. Kind regards Nicci
