When I'm telling someone to eat more fruit, can I say "你多吃水果" instead of "你多吃些水果"? And if I do say so with xie, which means some/a few, what meaning does it contribute to the sentence in general where duo chi can suffice for eat more?

你多吃水果 ：it sounds weird, but I know your meaning. 听起来有点奇怪，虽然我知道你想表达的意思。
你多吃些水果 ：a little bit better 比上面的更自然。
你多吃点水果： the best , native speaker say this quite often.听起来最舒服。我们经常这么说。
些/点 means degree
For example, 我想早点睡觉 I want to sleep early.

"你多吃水果" sounds harsh, like an order and not so natural, while "你多吃些水果" sounds suggestive and natural.
