What is the proper translation for "to do"? Tun or zutun?

In German you do not write 'zu tun' for the infinitive as in English, just 'tun'. Look here: https://dict.leo.org/englisch-deutsch/tun But in spoken or written German both forms are used. Ich habe etwas zu tun.
