Hi, what's the difference between "light out" and "blackout"?

Lights out means turn off the lights. Black out means the power went off.

Joe is correct. I will add that you might hear the phrase: "Is it light out?" This means "Has the sun risen?"

Be careful during a blackout. We don't know how long the lights will be out. Hopefully not too long tho.
