One of the most known traditional foods in my area is the "Pequi", which is a fruit naturally founded in the Brazilian Cerrado (Cerrado is like the African Savanna). There are varied interesting information about the "Pequi" (I firmly recommend you search for it), but there is one that I want to underscore: until the XVIII nobody was used to eat it, and it were used solely for making soap.
