Want to sound more natural in Turkish? Learning idioms (deyimler) is the key! Here are three common Turkish idioms that will make your speech more authentic:
🔹 1️⃣ Tavşan dağa küsmüş, dağın haberi olmamış.
(The rabbit got mad at the mountain, but the mountain didn’t even notice.)
👉 Meaning: When someone is angry, but the other person doesn’t care.
🔹 2️⃣ Üzüm üzüme baka baka kararır.
(Grapes darken by looking at each other. 🍇)
👉 Meaning: People are influenced by those around them.
🔹 3️⃣ Boşuna kürek çekmek.
(To row for nothing. 🚣♂️)
👉 Meaning: To waste effort on something useless.
