I think it’s perfectly fine to use the verb “to fade” to describe a talent someone used to have, but now not so much. For example: “She used to be so good at playing the piano when she was in school, but now that she has graduated, this talent is beginning to fade.” Or “His talent quickly faded after he lost interest in it.” I hope this helped 🌈

Yes. It’s a really nice description actually. We say faded talent. That singer is no longer popular, he’s a faded talent.
