Is it ok to say "I'm famished" meaning "I'm very hungry" ?

I would use "starving". Pretty much "famished" is hungrier than "starving", and, for exemple, "ravenous" is even hungrier.
I don't use "famished" or "ravenous" myself, but they're not completely unheard-of.
