If you visit Japan, where I’m living, you must try “nikujaga”, traditional Japanese homemade stew with pork and vegetables, mainly potatoes and onions. Many people would dash for sushi, ramen, or wagu when they come to Japan. However, I’d like them to try out a real mother’s taste of Japan. The dish is a little hard to find at high class restaurant because as I said it is a dish mostly prepared at home. So I would recommend you going to “izakaya” Japanese pub, or restaurants where you can find menus such as a bowl of rice and miso soup with a main dish.
