Results of 2 IELTS exams, taken in 2017 and 2020 As you can see, the Speaking band score got worse after 3 years. I was living in an English speaking country the whole time. 🤔 Language environment is not as important as many learners think. Especially if you’re an advanced language learner, active and deliberate practice is the key. Thoughts?

Yeah, I agree. If you've gotten to an advanced level where you feel like you can understand others and speak well, you lose your incentive for focused practice, but it's still important if you want to keep improving! I've found this with Spanish.
