You can say "suéter" as more formal or "jersey" as a colloquial word. :)

Es como te han dicho. A veces también se usa la palabra inglesa "pullover"; y si está abierto por delante, con botones, al menos en España, se usa "rebeca", probablemente tomado de la película de Hitchcock
