Community TutorHi there!! Hope you're doing well. I'm not pretty sure if the verb after the subjects below is singular or plural, or maybe they're interchangeable. Hope I made myself understood.Thanks for your help.
1 Neither of us is/are more intelligent than she is.
2 None of them live/lives around here.
3 Neither John nor Peter works/work in this company

Hi Queti. Although in common speech some people might use plurals with 1 and 3, technically both are singular. None of them in your example means not any of them, so it’s plural.

None of them live
Neither works

1 Definitely singular. Not one or the other is more intelligent than she is. You are considering them in turn.
2 Singular. Again you are considering them in turn,
3 Singular again.
2 is most like to use the plural in everyday speech.
