Difference between “говорить”, “сказать” and “рассказать” in Russian!
In fact, the difference is almost the same as between verbs Speak, Say and Tell.
Говорить = to speak, usually a language. You can:
* Говорить ерунду - speak gibberish
* Говорить правду - tell the truth
* Говорить тихо - speak quetly
Сказать = to say something once or very fast
* Сказать красиво - say beautifully, in a beautiful manner
* Сказать быстро - say very fast
* Сказать хорошо - say well
Рассказать = tell about something continuously, usually about a situation or a topic
* Рассказать о… - to tell about… (to finish telling)
* Рассказывать о… - to be telling about… (in the process)
* Долго рассказывать - “too long to tell”, speak too long for something to stay interesting
