What does "fetched on a stick" mean? "She milked her cow and carried the two pails of milk she fetched on a stick and set out to sell the milk at the market."

In that sentence, it's referring to how she carried the milk pails since she put the milk pails "on a stick". The word fetch means to retrieve or to go get something, so the sentence is saying that she got the milk pails and then carried them on a stick. I included a picture of someone doing this. Hope this helps!
