Korean makes me feel most alive
Hello, everyone, I’m lily. As I mentioned in my last self-introduction. I’m from yanbian university and I studied Korean there for two years. I’m going to show you the power of this language for me.
I had a terrible social anxiety when I first started my university life,I didn’t even want to being noticed by other people.Apparently, it was so difficult for me to make friends or communicate with others ,especially in a foreign language. Unfortunately at that time, Korean was a required course for me.So,in order to get good grades ,I had no choice but to keep writing words down on paper. That was so boring that I wanted to give up.
Then I realized that learning to speak, listen ,read and write is as important as learning English in Korean.Rote memorization was not enough. The most important things is turning Korean learning from a boring school subject into a pleasant activities which I don’t mind doing everyday,in other words ,it’s really crucial to find enjoyment in the process of learning ,so I got to know Korean culture by participating in various activities. For example, I watched a lot of Korean dramas on Netflix ,Listened to a lot of K-pop music, went to the museum in yanji ,watched the Korean dance performed by the Academy of Arts.
I tried to communicate with my Korean teacher--MS.Lee and my classmates in my spare time.We had lunch and coffee together. During that time, many topics about cultural differences and Similarities between China and South Korean were discussed. Besides, I made a lot of kind friends who are willing to help others.
When I got a level where I can use Korean fluently to express anything, I started to use some applications to talk with native speakers , this is an amazing feeling, We talked about interesting topics and helped each other correct grammar mistakes.
