Better for what? Both are difficult to deal with. When you are a child you can daydream about the future but you also have your little responsibilities and can feel pressured by your family. On the other hand, everything is for free! Even if you weren't born on a rich family, you can suffer the consequences of not having money but it's not your responsibility to get more.
When you are an adult you can make your own decisions and do whatever you want, as long as you have money enough. In that case, you're like a child but everything hurts and people around you are disappearing. (Didn't want to get too dramatic there, it can be just your friends moving away or having different schedules so you don't meet as often).
