I agree with Italki English.
Also "stroke" is movement of the hand usually in just one direction. (e.g. you would stroke a cat); "caress" means that you usually move the hand in different directions (e.g. you might caress a baby, to calm him or her, or to show affection.)

Stroke means to touch gently. Caress means to touch sb/sth gently, especially in a way that shows affection.
