The ability to understand spoken Chinese is a common problem for students of Mandarin. Although there is a plethora of authentic listening material available on various media platforms, many learners are often frustrated by the high comprehension level, or their lack of background knowledge of the material wanting to understand. In this segment of Wendy Zhang’s 边听边说 More than Listening podcast titled: 《外婆，好想多一些了解你（上）》.” Grandma, I really want to know more about you,” Zhang laoshi (张老师 ) at a moderate pace reads the above titled story, and after each paragraph (three in all) explains the vocabulary, and phrases, then analyzes its contents, for example “剥豆子” (to peel the beans), “放暑假.” (Summer vacation) et.al., all of which gives the listener a deeper understanding of 《外婆，好想多一些了解你（上）》.
