These sticks in my hands are called Mizuhiki. Mizuhiki is an ancient Japanese craft that uses stiff rice paper cord to shape beautiful forms. A friend of mine is into this craft and has been practicing it for a while. I ordered a Pomeranian-shape and a rabbit-shape bookmarks from her, and these are what I received. They are very cute, aren't they?
