What is the difference between next week and following week?

Next week is the one that starts on Monday (now it's 30yh Nov). We say "following week" if you're talking about a given week and want to talk about the week after that. For example, I will go on holiday to Spain next week and hope to go to Italy the following week. Does that make sense?
