Hello 🙋‍♀️ I am confused about something. Which should I use "engender trust" or "develop trust"? Which of both is common or true one?

Develop trust means to start trusting someone while endanger trust means putting your trust in danger

Both are natural. However, 'engender' means cause or bring about. It can be more sudden. e.g. I engendered trust with my colleague when I lied to our boss to cover for her when she had to leave work early. One action caused the trust. 'Develop' couldn't be used in this way. 'Develop' means grow. It is a slower, more gradual process. I develop trust with my students by correcting them kindly and patiently, and by never mocking their mistakes. A longer way of behaving makes the trust grow. 'Engender' could also be used here.

"Engender" is a more sophisticated verb to use than simple old "develop " :)
