Sentence 1. is good
Sentence 2. has a lot of problems:
SPARKING not SPARKLING. EFFECTIVE, not EFFECTIVENESS (you need an adjective, not noun), DRIVE not DERIVE, Also, the tenses and construction using TO DRIVE are problematic. So, just use the structure of sentence 1.
