What is the meaning of "available to start work"?

Available = ready to be or to use. So if you are offered a new job, but you have a 4 week notice in your current job that means you are NOT available immediately, you are available to start in 4 weeks.

It means they don’t have another job then. If I am leaving my current job on Friday 23rd September, I am available to start work from Monday 26th September.
