Jumping out of my skin - Is referring to shock, when someone is suddenly shocked or very scared.
"I was so scared, that made me jump out of my skin!"
Pull the chord - Is the action of pulling on a rope or line.
"I pulled on my chord to release the parachute."

Jumping out of my skin is when a person is frightened. When a person is frightened and they want to talk about it they say “ I nearly jumped out of my skin” that indicates that the person was scared.
