I've recently been exploring cultural differences between British and Ukrainian senses of humor. Here's what I’ve found: 🇬🇧 British humor is often: • Dry and deadpan (delivered seriously, even when absurd) • Full of irony, understatement, and wordplay • Self-deprecating—poking fun at one's ow n class, emotions, or failures 🇺🇦 Ukrainian humor is often: • Cynical but warm, full of folk wisdom and quick-witted irony • Shaped by hardship, history, and resilience • Sharp in its observations of everyday life, politics, and cultural quirks In short: British humor hides emotion with wit. Ukrainian humor embraces suffering with a smirk. 🙂 Share your favorite British or Ukrainian jokes—I'd love to discover more! #english #ukrainian #humor

Interesting, and I'd agree. I have taught a few Ukrainian students, many of whom I've found very funny, and had some Ukrainian lesson myself, and I've thought that, though not identical, the two brands of humour are mutually understood and work well together.

British is a very broad term. The humour of a white-collar Scrooge in London will be very different to the humour of a blue-collar Builder in Liverpool, for example.
