狡兔三窟:
a cunning hare has three burrows
-> refers to criminals having a few hideouts
狡兔死,走狗烹
(after) the cunning hare is killed, the running dog is cooked
->admonishes against being used as a tool
兔子急了也咬人
(even the placid) rabbit bites when angry
-> admonishes against pushing sb. too far
兔子不吃窝边草
Lit. A hare does not eat grass next to its burrows
-> Don’t sh*t where you eat
兔子尾巴 - 长不了
lit. hare’s tale - can't be long
refers to (sth) won’t last long
兔死狐悲
lit. a fox sad at the hare’s death
-> lamenting over the fate of one’s own kind
