A collocation is when two or more words are seen together more often than is usual, for example:
fast food
bus stop
business English
early riser
Because they are commonly seen together, they are easily understood and, in some ways, can be seen as a single word or unit of information.

Co (together) + location (place) - collocation is a word or phrase that naturally and frequently occurs before, after, or very near the target word.
Examples: strong wind and heavy rain.
