Could someone please correct my English? When I was taking an English lesson today, the teacher told me that my pronunciation of "rarely" sounded like " really". 今日英語のレッスンを受けてた時、先生にrarelyの発音がreallyに聞こえると言われた。 After this lesson, I checked my pronunciation of "rarely" using Google translation and the result was all no good. 😭 レッスンの後自分のrarelyの発音をGoogle翻訳でチェックしてみたら、全然ダメだった。 The pronunciation of English is really hard for me. Compared to that, I think the pronunciation of Japanese is very simple and easy. Anyway, I'll do my best for practicing. 英語の発音って本当に難しい！それに比べて日本語の発音はシンプルで簡単だと思う。とにかく、練習頑張ろ！😊

Could someone please correct my English? When I was taking an English lesson today, the teacher told me that my pronunciation of "rarely" sounded like "really". After this lesson, I checked my pronunciation of "rarely" using Google translation and the result was NOT GOOD AT ALL. The pronunciation of English is really hard for me. Compared to that, I think the pronunciation of Japanese is very simple and easy. Anyway, I'll PRACTICE IT AS MUCH/AS BEST AS I CAN.

I suggest to focus on the pronunciation of the first syllable, as it's the key to differentiate between the two words. With "really" the vowel looks like the sound of an "ee" (NEED), so "rEElly", while with "rarely" it's more like an "ay" (tAke), so "rAYrly"... Choose one (Really for ex.) and focus on it all day forgetting the other, then tomorrow focus on the other (rarely) all the day forgetting the other, then the confusion should be gone. Good luck
