Professional TeacherEnglish idioms 🐴 #moreфон2020 🌊
An idiom is a phrase that has a metaphorical meaning. If you look at the individual words, you probably won’t be able to guess what the idiom means. Idioms are commonly used in everyday English, they say there are about twenty-five thousand idiomatic expressions. You don’t have to remember all of them, but it’s good to know at least the most common ones (like “raining 🐈🐈 and 🐕🐕”). I’ve noticed many people include idioms into their diary entries. That’s a really good habit 👍🏻
To help my students get comfortable using idioms, we play a fun online game that gives you a sequence of emojis. I don’t remember those sequences exactly, but I made up some of my own. Can you guess the following idioms?
1. 😎=🥒
2. 👜🐈😳
3.👂🏻⬆️🐴👅
4. 1️⃣🔵🌙
5. 🍰🎂👌🏻
6. 🏃🏽♀️=🎻
