Natural English 4)Grammar is so “old zoo”. (all photos in this series are taken by the Author as he travels around Australia) Conservation, of animals, has changed a lot over the last 100 years. Animals were once entertainment but now we try to protect them. It is a rather like learning Grammar. To much Grammar limits creativity. Allowing wide uses of grammar improves creativity. Zoos, 100 years ago, were created so the animals were used as a form of Entertainment. We had the technology to put them onto ships and take them to different countries. People in Europe loved the Monkey, Elephants and Giraffes. Unfortunately the Animals lived in small cement cages. They became sick and boring to look at. This reminds me of to much grammar. Grammar is useful to help the reader understand the Authors position. If you look at any good book it allows the reader the ability to visualise and make they own world. Give school students a written passage and ask them to draw it. No drawing will be same. The written story, fiction or non fiction, is interesting as it allows the reader to create. In Australia we have a zoo that requires a 6 kilometre bicycle ride to see all the animals. The zoo is huge. The animals have plenty of space to run and play. Which they do. Just look at the photos below. The animals are less stressed in natural surroundings. This zoo gives me hope for the future of English. People writing about places and things that allow the reader to visualise their own picture. English can help us understand each others countries and culture. Limited grammar allows creation. The writer creates through descriptive writing and the reader creates a new world. Their own world. It is interesting for everyone. This skill can also be used in IELTS. You will be asked many questions about your experiences. Describing those events makes the test interesting for you and the examiner.
