I have been reading 10 to 15 pages on a regular basis for the past few years. I learn so much from books. Not just vocabulary, but reading also helps to consolidate the grammar that I have already learned. Yesterday, I started thinking about the answer that I received in response to my question. If native speakers are saying that it doesn't make sense and it doesn't sound natural to express the idea that way, why not just forget it instead of questioning it. You said yourself that you can say that sentence another way, so why not say it that way.
Forgot it, focus, and keep going. Otherwise, you are going to end up confusing it with other things as well.
Thanks everybody
