Hi Tracy šŸ¤— Sentence ā€œBā€ is correct (ā€œI think I might have been driving too fastā€). Sentence ā€œCā€ is in the ā€œpast tenseā€, and sentence ā€œBā€ uses the ā€œpast participleā€. So why ā€œBā€ and not ā€œCā€? As a native speaker, when I read this dialogue, sentence ā€œBā€ sounds much more natural. We should choose the ā€œpast participleā€ option when we are talking about a past event that can be linked to another time (usually the present). In your example, the two people are probably talking about all aspects of this car accident (including ā€œpresentā€ consequences from the accident such as current injuries, car damage, dealing with car insurance, etc.). Even though the ā€œfast drivingā€ is finished, the ā€œfast drivingā€ is now linked to present circumstances. I hope this helped šŸ¤—šŸŒˆ Nicky Ann
